At the May 13, 1964 Director's meeting of the Kitchener-Waterloo Field Naturalist's, Craig Campbell moved that a standing Conservation Committee comprised of three members be created. The committee was responsible for investigating the future of Bannister's Marsh, Alp's Road Forest, Pinehurst Wildlife Area, Roseville Swamp, Bloomingdale Heronry, Little Turnbull Lake, Doon Freeport green belt area, and other areas of interest, and make recommendations to the Directorate concerning the preservation of these natural areas and the wildlife in them. Craig Campbell was chosen to chair the committee and select the other members. |
