| Administrative History or Biography |
Council and Administrative Services was created as the Clerk's Department in 1973 with the formation of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo. The first Regional Clerk was A. W. Woods who worked directly with Secretary, Evelyn Luhowy who later became the second Regional Clerk. At this time the Clerk's Department was responsible for the Land Division and Licensing Division. By 1980, the Graphics & Office Services Division was also added under the Clerk's Department. The Land Division was removed from the responsibility of the Clerk's Department around in 1984. The name of the Licensing Division was changed around 1989 to Licensing & By-Law Enforcement to better reflect the role of the Division. Around 1992, the Clerk's Department was renamed Council and Administrative Services. It became a division under the Corporate Resources Department. Council and Administrative Services division is composed of five programs; Citizen Services, Corporate Publishing, Information Management and Archives, and Provincial Offences Court. The division is managed by the Regional Clerk/Director of Council and Administrative Services, Kris Fletcher. |
