Function The Region of Waterloo International Airport facilitates private and recreational flight traffic as well as charter traffic from local businesses. The Airport is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Scheduled passenger service commenced in 1999. The Airport also provides Just-In-Time cargo delivery services to Kitchener- Waterloo, Cambridge and Guleph.
Administrative History or Biography

The Region of Waterloo International Airport, originally known as the Waterloo Regional Airport has been owned and operated by the Regional Municipality of Waterloo since the City of Guelph relinquished its share in 1995. Previously, it was operated by the Kitchener-Waterloo and later the Waterloo-Wellington Airport Commission. The Airport currently has a full time staff of seven and often draws upon the resources of casual workers who assist in snow removal and provide additional support during special events.
